Favourites: Red Lips

What is Christmas without a red lip? I have a lot of red lipsticks, my favourite lipstick colour is red. It's such a classic shade and honestly will make any outfit better. The holidays are for feeling glamorous so why not wear a red lip and be fabulous? I have a huge red lip collection and I really couldn't do my top five, so I have included all of my red lipsticks and some from my sisters collection to give you all the options to pick a shade that works for you. There's 16 colours!
Cream/Satin:

Nars Audacious Lipstick in Lana. I believe I've featured this one before a long time ago, but I love this colour, so I'm going to share it again. It is a satin lip colour, lasts a long time and it looks matte in the picture, but it's not. It is the perfect orange red shade and it is very pigmented, it retails at $39.

Rimmel London Moisture Renew in Diva Red. This is one of these perfect red shade that aren't dull. I love the consistency of this colour as well as the pigmentation, it lasts relatively long, but you will need to re-apply after eating or drinking. Rimmel makes an excellent lipstick and this one retails at $6.48.

Maybeline Colour Sensational Lipstick in Dark Red. I like this shade because it lasts a pretty long time, even through a meal. The only thing is that you have to apply a few layers because the consistency is a bit patchy. Its in the bright red tube and retails at $7.96.

Bite Beauty Amuse Bouche Lipstick in Tannin. This is a satin finish and is the most beautiful poppy red shade. Although it looks dark in the tube, the amuse bouche collection is moisturizing and lightens when applied. It's absolutely lovely, but will not last through a meal, it will last through a drink though; so it's perfect for a party or shopping. This retails at $30.

Urban Decay Vice Lipstick in 69. Please ignore the packaging, this is one of the colours from the old collection that they re-released. Its a cream shade with a pink undertone. It lasts a very long time with minimal re-application. It's absolutely wonderful especially if you have pink undertones in your skin. It retails for $21.
Matte:

Urban Decay Vice Lipstick in Temper. Again, this colour was re-released in Urban Decay's Vice collection. It's an orange red matte shade and is great with a tan or without. I love this shade because the pigmentation and consistency are flawless and wears really nicely throughout the day. It retails at $21.

Revlon Ultra HD Matte Lipcolor in Love. I love liquid lipsticks because it's exactly like applying red paint on your lips. This colour is so well pigmented and layers really well. Once it's dry, it lasts pretty long, but it's not perfect, so you will have to re-apply. This retails at $9.96

NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in Amsterdam. The pigment in this lipstick is the absolute best. I love how long this lasts on my lips and I adore the colour. It's marketed as pure red, but it has this speck of pink in it and its fabulous. It retails at $9.

NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in Monte Carlo. This pigmentation is a little less intense, but with a red lip liner its the best. This is a very deep red, but it's perfect for those holiday parties. It lasts through a good night out. It retails at $9.

Nars Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Cruella. So technically, this is a lip pencil, but it's the ultimate matte red because it's a lip pencil. It's wonderful under lipsticks and on it's own. It's best when you need an all day red lip, just apply it under the lipstick and the colour will be your backup. It retails at $33.

L'Oreal Paris Colour Riche Collection Exclusive Pure Reds in Blake's Red. It's the most beautiful everyday red, it also really lasts a long time. Perfect for pictures with Santa. It retails at $8.96 at Walmart, but I can't find it on their website, but I know they have it, since I saw it. You could also try Shoppers Drug Mart.

M.A.C's Russian Red. My first matte lipstick. I'm totally in love with this lipstick, it's the red with blue undertones that just doesn't quit... with a lip liner. The pigmentation and consistency is top notch and it wears wonderfully. It retails at $21.
Sheer:

Revlon Lip Stain Balm in Romantic. This is a perfect light red shade for those who want a light wash of colour and love lip balm. It's a stain, so it does last a little longer, but doesn't necessarily last any more than a few hours. The consistency is wonderful. This retails at $8.96.

Revlon Colorburst Lacquer Lip Balm in Enticing. I love the colour of this one, but like everything sheer, it doesn't last as long. It's wonderful as an everyday colour, but it could also work as a night colour. Because it's a balm, it wont dry out your lips. It retails at $8.96.

Nars Lip Gloss in Scandal. Okay, so this is the old packaging, but it's a cheer red shade that is great to go over red lips or lips with no colour on them. It doesn't last because it is a lip gloss. It retails at $26.

Revlon Lip Stain Balm in Adore. This is exactly like the one above, but in a darker shade, for someone who wants to be a little more daring with colour, but no commitment is required. I like that this shade lasts a little longer, but not the entire day and the consistency is great. It retails at $8.96.
That's all the lipsticks I have for you!
