How to Turn Your Weekends Into Mini Vacations

There's something about summer that makes me want to have little adventures and relax. I don't want to meal prep more than I have to, I don't want to do laundry, I don't want to clean my house.

Lately, I've been turning my weekends into mini vacations and thought I would give you my tips on how to make it that you actually enjoy your weekends instead of packing them with every errand you couldn't get done over the week.

Your weekends do not need to be boring! Changing your routine can have an impact and be fun. This being said, it may not always be a fun weekend, but try for once every three weeks.

1) Do your grocery shopping Thursday

If you buy all your groceries Thursday, then everything is fresh for the weekend.

2) Stop meal prepping

If you're a serial meal prep'er, you know how to make your meals better than anyone else and you know how long it takes. A fun part of summer is relaxing and not stressing about your perfect food routine. I still prep, but I mostly make meals that are easy to do like adult lunch-ables and stir fry's.

3) Clean your house on Friday night before bed

So maybe you have a chill Friday planned? A great time to clean is right before bed on Friday night. Load the dishwasher, washing machine, and vacuum all before bed. Get all the roommates together and clean at the same time so your house is clean for the weekend. Or gather your family members to help. You shouldn't be doing all the chores by yourself. When the house is clean, then you feel like you can relax.

4) Plan fun activities

I have every weekend booked with something new this summer. Hiking, trips to the market, day trips to other places, trips to the spa, you name it, it's booked. I didn't want to feel like my summer was another part of the year, I wanted to feel like I was on vacation and on vacation, I do activities that are fun.

5) Don't stress if not everything is perfect

It's summer, it's okay if things are in disarray, or if your floors aren't clean or if the laundry just didn't get done. Enjoy the heat, relax, and do what you want to do.

Thanks for reading,

Samantha
